چکیده
ObjectiveTo examine white matter abnormalities, measured by diffusion tensor imaging, in very preterm (<32 weeks) and moderate-late neonates (32-37 at term-equivalent age, compared with healthy full-term controls (?37 weeks).Study designA search of Medline (PubMed) was conducted to identify studies data collected on preterm, neonates, using the guidelines from Meta-analysis Observational Studies Epidemiology PRISMA statements.ResultsEleven were included imaging 554 575 318 neonates. Widespread statistically significant measures found all subgroups age this difference more marked for group. These abnormalities are suggestive changes microstructure groups. Periventricular Hemorrhage in Term and Late Preterm Neonates: Risk Factors and Outcomes
Background: Periventricular hemorrhage (PVH) is common in early preterm neonates but much less common in term and late preterm neonates. The aim of this study was to identify the risk factors and outcomes of PVH in term and late preterm neonates in a tertiary care center in Upper Egypt. Methods: A total of 33 term and late preterm (≥ 34 weeks...
متن کاملChange-point analysis data of neonatal diffusion tensor MRI in preterm and term-born infants
The data presented in this article are related to the research article entitled "Mapping the Critical Gestational Age at Birth that Alters Brain Development in Preterm-born Infants using Multi-Modal MRI" (Wu et al., 2017) [1]. Brain immaturity at birth poses critical neurological risks in the preterm-born infants. We used a novel change-point model to analyze the critical gestational age at bir...
متن کاملPlacental transfusion strategies in very preterm neonates: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of interventions promoting placental transfusion at delivery (delayed cord clamping or umbilical cord milking) compared with early cord clamping on outcomes among premature neonates of less than 32 weeks of gestation. DATA SOURCES A systematic search was conducted of PubMed, Embase, and ClinicalTrials.gov databases (January 1965 to December 2013) for artic...
متن کاملNeonatal diffusion tensor brain imaging predicts later motor outcome in preterm neonates with white matter abnormalities
BACKGROUND White matter (WM) abnormalities associated with prematurity are one of the most important causes of neurological disability that involves spastic motor deficits in preterm newborns. This study aimed to evaluate regional microstructural changes in diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) associated with WM abnormalities. METHODS We prospectively studied extremely low birth weight (ELBW; <1000...
